Report: Matt Gaetz, Matt Rosendale Question Seriousness of Joe Biden Impeachment Inquiry

After Two Days Of Failing To Elect A Speaker, House Continues To Hold Votes

Reps. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and Matt Rosendale (R-MT) reportedly questioned the seriousness of the Republican impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden, allegedly calling it a political stunt.

The comments were reportedly made on an invitation-only fundraiser held over Zoom last week, according to a video obtained by NBC News.

Gaetz and Rosendale, both of whom voted to remove Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) as Speaker of the House, reportedly issued warnings that the inquiry into Joe Biden might be used as a GOP leadership “smokescreen” to deflect from alleged wrongdoing committed by Hunter Biden, such as potentially violating the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) or the Mann Act.

Rosendale reportedly likened the inquiry to special counsel’s indictment of Hunter Biden on three gun charges, which excluded potential tax, sex trafficking, and FARA violations. “They’re doing the exact same thing,” Rosendale allegedly said.

“I just don’t get the sense that it’s for the sake of impeachment,” Gaetz reportedly said. “I think it’s for the sake of having another bad thing to say about Joe Biden.”

The conservative lawmakers’ critique came about a week before Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) expressed concern about the inquiry. Mace, who also voted to oust McCarthy, claimed that GOP leadership told moderates and conservatives two different stories about the purpose of the impeachment inquiry.

“Conservatives were told one thing about impeachment, moderates were told another thing,” Mace told Bannon’s War Room on Wednesday. “Conservatives were guaranteed an impeachment, moderates were guaranteed there will be no impeachment.”

The conservative skepticism has blossomed into questioning if House investigators subpoenaed Hunter and James Biden. Gaetz repeatedly appears to claim the Biden subpoenas have not been issued. However, House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) subpoenaed Hunter and James Biden on September 28, 315 days after formally launching an investigation into the Biden family.

“Today I will subpoena the bank records of Hunter Biden, James Biden and their affiliated companies,” Comer announced at the end of the first impeachment inquiry on September 28. “The witnesses today have all identified the evidence the committee is uncovered as deserving further inquiry. And that is what this committee will do, no matter where that evidence leads.”

The Oversight Committee could potentially hold a second impeachment inquiry in November, Time reported. Breitbart News could not confirm the timeframe of the report.

A source familiar with the committee’s deliberations told Breitbart News the committee is looking to bring in whistleblower Tony Bobulinski and other associates to testify in the second inquiry hearing. Bobulinski, a former partner of the Bidens, met Joe Biden in the lobby of the Beverly Hilton Hotel in May 2017 to discuss CEFC China Energy Co., an entity closely linked to the Chinese Communist Party.

Bobulinski’s testimony could add relevant details to the first impeachment inquiry in which legal scholar Jonathan Turley told the committee any monetary benefits to Biden family members are benefits to Joe Biden and, therefore, implicate him in wrongdoing. “As I point out in the testimony, courts have found that various benefits to family members can be attributed as a benefit to the principle,” he said. “That has included everything from throwing a golf contest in the favor of a son of a politician to paying for gifts.”

Since November, the Republican investigation into the Biden family business found it had ties to at least 23 countries and raked in more than $24 million through more than 20 shell companies and LLCs.

“[E]vidence compiled by this committee justifies the investigation of Joe Biden’s role and his family’s International Business games and justifies the next step of this investigation,” Comer said.

AG Garland: Trust Me

CRAIG BANNISTER | OCTOBER 2, 2023

Despite desperately trying to let Democrat Pres. Joe Biden’s son Hunter off the hook, while zealously pursuing any excuse to prosecute Republican Former Pres. Donald Trump, Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland says Americans should trust him.

On Sunday, in an interview with “60 Minutes,” AG Garland continued to repeat his claim that there is not a two-tiered justice system employed by his Biden Administration Justice Department:

“We do not have one rule for Republicans and another rule for Democrats. We don't have one rule for foes and another for friends. We don't have one rule for the powerful and another for the powerless, for the rich or for the poor, based on ethnicity.

“We have only one rule. And that one rule: we follow the facts and the law and we reach the decisions required by the Constitution, and we protect civil liberties.”

Yet, despite a growing mountain of evidence against Hunter Biden of influence-peddling while his father was vice president and of potential tax violations, the Justice Department has declined to undertake any genuine prosecution – and even allowed the statute of limitations to lapse, in some cases, whistleblowers have testified.

Nonetheless, Attorney General Garland told 60 Minutes that Americans should trust, not only him, but all the career prosecutors at the Justice Department:

60 Minutes: “Are you essentially saying as attorney general to the American people trust me?”

AG Garland: “Well, in the end, I suppose it does in the end come down to trust.

“But it's not just me. It's decades of the norms of this department that are part of the DNA of the career prosecutors who are running the investigation and supervising the investigations that you're talking about.”

And, despite launching trials of Trump at the times they would do the most harm to his run for president in 2024, AG Garland repeated his claim that Justice Department prosecutors are nonpartisan:

60 Minutes: “Your critics say that it's time to ruin Mr. Trump's chances in the election.”

AG Garland: “Well, that's absolutely not true. Justice department prosecutors are nonpartisan. They don't allow partisan considerations to play any role in their determinations.”

In one of the most egregious violations of the public’s trust, Former FBI attorney Kevin Clinesmith made a false statement stemming from his altering of an email in connection with the submission of a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (“FISA”) application used to obtain permission to surveil then-Pres. Trump in furtherance of the unfounded “Crossfire Hurricane” Trump-Russia collusion investigation.

Clinesmith pled guilty, as a result of an investigation by Special Counsel John Durham.

Meanwhile, the list of evidence that Biden’s Justice Department (DOJ) is practicing a two-tiered system of justice continues to grow:

· While at least 88 crisis pregnancy centers have been firebombed, vandalized or set ablaze since last July, Biden’s DOJ has initiated only one prosecution – while aggressively seeking to jail and fine non-violent pro-life protestors,

· In June, former President Donald Trump was indicted for a second time – for the same conduct (mishandling classified documents) that Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton engaged in, without consequence.

· Four of five voters (79.3%) now say there’s a two-tiered justice system.

· series of politically-motivated investigations and episodes of malfeasance from both the FBI and IRS in particular over the last decade have given Americans good reason to cast doubt on the integrity of beltway institutions.

· Multiple whistleblowers within the FBI and the Internal Revenue Service have charged the DOJ with deliberately slow-walking investigations into Pres. Biden’s son, Hunter.

· Biden’s DOJ raided the home of a pro-life pastor for pushing a threatening pro-abortion agitator away from his young son, while militant abortion activists firebombed Christian pregnancy clinics.

· Biden’s DOJ charged a man with homicide for defending subway riders from a threatening vagrant, but do nothing to stop criminals who terrorize law-abiding citizens.

· Biden’s DOJ tried to give Hunter Biden a sweetheart plea deal that would’ve allowed him to avoid jail on tax and gun charges.

· A letter by three House committee chairman sent to AG Garland on August 28 cites 11 instances of special treatment given by U.S. Attorney David Weiss’ office – before Garland appointed Weiss to be the special counsel probing Hunter Biden’s potential crimes
